Dealer Expo Indianapolis

Mike Metzger and company were on hand at the Dealer Expo tradeshow in Indianapolis representing KALI Protectives. While on hand Mike painted a canvas, signed some autographs, & roamed the halls. The show marked the release of the new art based series of helmets that are being released through KALI Protectives. In addition to releasing helmets we had bike graphics on display and released the summer line. Thanks to KALI for the accomidation at the show.

Thanks to Wes Smith (SmithLine Industries) for helping out at the show. Wes held it down an went out of his way to direct people to the booth....Thanks to Wes the booth never died down. Here he's photographed working the hall like a madman....

This kid came in to see Metzger and then got scared. When I got word of this I tracked him down and waited in line with him. He was not disappointed when he left the show.

Of course Mike managed to attract the local hotties.

This kid was stoked to meet his idol and wouldn't take the helmet off. Can you blame him?

Mike never disappoints the camera. Photogtraphed here he tells the Vital MX camera what he's all about.

Also on had was Rubbertree Studios. Mike & Jon are a class act and they were on hand showing some new technology that it available for e-commerce solutions.

Robbie Madision is usually jumping off of buildings or over football fields. But for the first time we spotted him sitting down.

Brad from KALI tells Vital MX all about the KALI products and the exciting relationship opportunity that they have with Mike Metzger & company.

All in all the show was a success. Thanks to everyone that stopped by and helped out to make it all possible. See you next year....

A Day at the Studio

Align Right

This morning Mike and I left his house in Idaho and drove up to the studio to shoot for the intro to a new video production that we're working on. On the way up we stopped at Jimmy C's to grab a late breakfast and to catch up on some business. The studio is located in the back hills of Idaho and has some gnarly state of the art equipment. Check out the photos and stay tuned for the title release........

Our beloved Jeremy Lusk has passed away

It is with the greatest sadness that our beloved Jeremy Lusk passed away at approximately 11:03 PM PST this evening due to complications from the crash sustained Saturday evening in Costa Rica. Still in the Calderon Hospital Intensive Care Unit, he was surrounded by his loving Mother and Father, Chuck and Gina Lusk, his wonderful wife Lauren, his Mother and Father-in-Law Lynne and Larry and many of his closest Mulisha family members including Brian Deegan, Ryan Hagy, Cameron Steele
and Erik Apple.

Please keep Jeremy and his family in your thoughts and prayers. All the warm thoughts, comments and support are comforting in these times.

We will provide further updates regarding arrangements as we get them.

McCall Idaho Ground Zero Snowbike Race

So as usual I spent my days trying to chase Metz down to see what he is up to, he has yet to disappoint, and when I found him this time he was in McCall, Idaho racing snow bikes with dirt bike legends, John Dowd, Steve Hatch, & the Backwoods Moto God Derek Mahoney. Yeah thats right I said snow bikes. These bikes are incredible. Just convert your Moto-cross bike to a snow machine, and rip through the deepest powder going places that you could not hike, go up on a snowmobile, or even ride on a dirt bike when there is no snow. Growing up in the Midwestern snow covered terrain I always had to wait it out until spring to ride or put a thousand screws in my tires, which does not even compare to what you can do on these machines. Well those days are over thanks to this creation by 2 Moto.

Day 1:

On day one all of the crew went trail riding in the back hills of McCall to get warmed up on the bikes.

Day 2

Everyone that was racing went to the track. The track was a golf course covered in snow and groomed. Open practice went well and everyone was getting used to the bikes. Metzger said They are just like riding a dirt bike only you have to over exaggerate your movements and man handle the bike.

Day 3

The day of the race could not have been more perfect. The day was beautiful with the bluest of skies, contrasting the white of snow, it was breath taking. The race started out like any motocross race. There was a riders meeting and then it was off to practice. The race had a two moto format, and three different classes, A, B, and the Legends class with the A main winner transferring to the final Legends Moto. The Legends class consisted of Mike Metzger, John Dowd, Steve Hatch, Derek Mahoney, Alex Smith, & the Peterson brothers, Robbie and Brett.

This was the first snow bike race ever!

The first moto of the legends race started with John Dowd taking the hole-shot. Alexander Smith was in 2nd, Mahoney in 3rd with Metzger closing in a close 4th. Metzger passed Mahoney moving into 3rd. The entire 8 lap race was battled back and forth between Dowd, Mahoney, and Metzger. It was a really close and exciting race, ending with Dowd 1st, Mahoney 2nd, and Metzger grabbed a close 3rd.

In the second moto of the legends race John Dowd took the hole-shot and ran all the way to the checkered flag, taking first place, while A main winner Richie Reynolds bagged second, and Idaho mountain man Derek Mahoney finished third. Mahoney blew out his right knee on the last lap allowing Reynolds to pass and Metzger to finish a close fourth, while Steve Hatch took fifth place.

All of the riders left with smiles on their faces curious when another snowbike race would take place. Big thanks to Ron Big Nasty Dillion, Vernal Forbes, The 2Moto crew, all the racers who traveled from all over the place, the sponsors, all the friends and fans.

Our Hearts & Prayers go out to the Lusk Family

Jeremy Lusk crashed last night at the X-Knights contest in Costa Rica and is in critical condition. We have heard that he is out of surgery and they are waiting for the swelling to go down on his brain. It appears as if he under rotated a backflip seat grab. Please pray for Jeremy and his family.

An emergency fund to help defer the costs of Jeremy Lusks medical care has been established and is set up to take donations immediately. Those interested in making a donation may do so by visiting athleterecoveryfund.com and clicking on the make a donation button. All donations made through this website, starting TODAY, are earmarked directly for Jeremy Lusks care.

- Jeremy Lusk was transported to Calderon Hospital in San Jose, where he now remains in a medically induced coma, in stable, but very critical condition where doctors are closely monitoring the swelling on his brain.
- Post-crash, suspected brain trauma required immediate surgery to treat a subdural hematoma on the brain.
- Surgery lasted 4 hours and 30 minutes.
- X-rays were done to the neck and spinal column and no breaks are being reported by hospital.
- When asked about injuries to other parts of his body, hospital is not reporting other injuries at this time.
- Jeremy was attended to by the head of neurological surgery, Dr. Jorge Ramirez.
- Doctors report that they will know more on Jeremys future prognosis within the next crucial 36 to 48 hours.

Team Metzger BMX Rider Bio- Houston Harmsen

Name: Houston Harmsen

Age: 19

Hometown: Murrieta, CA

Years Riding: 6

Favorite Riding Spot: Dacompound.com

Sponsors: Metzger Unlimited, Dacompound Skatepark,

SmithLine Industries, Kali Protectives, Icon Sports

How did you get Started in BMX: My pops used to take me to the race track when I was little. After racing for a few years, I started going to jumps by my house trying to send it! the rest is history.

How did you end up being Metzger's only BMX rider: I always looked up to Mike as a youngster. Last summer I won the Freeflow Tour and the week after I was sitting down with Metz and getting hooked up with his signature clothes. From that point I hung out with Metz and the crew out at Paradise Ranch. I also have been helping out at the Metzger Unlimited headquarters doing some web stuff and anything else that B. Roberts writes on my A-list. Brandon don't worry Wes and I did this after work hours.

I hear your supplyin' the action sports celebs with designer jeans, what's that all about?: pretty much just on the grind trying to get money to pay for bikes, gas, and everything I need to fulffil my dream. I teamed up with my boy Scotty (Stephens), and between the two of us we have sold to guys like Mike Metzger, Todd Potter, Dan Reardon, Julian Dessau, Ronnie Faisst just to name a few.

What are your plans 2009: To get out of the designer jean biz, and make it all happen on my bike. I have been working hard for the upcoming contest season. This will be my first year as a pro rider. I have the best trainer (Charles Dao-Icon Sports) and the group of sponsors backing me. I don't want to let them or myself down!
