So over the weekend I went out to Ocotillo Wells to film for my new video "The Madness". While out riding and filming for my new video I spotted what appeared to be Bust BigMan. Legend has it that this prehistoric creature has been living in the valley's of Ocotillo Wells for quite some time without being detected. Its said that he comes out in only the most prime condtions. By day he rides the hills shredding every hit in existence and by night he creaps into camps and towns to syphen fuel for the next super gnar day of shredding. During his madness he documents his every step, including himself. This guy has photos & video of every rider to ever crest the hills of Ocotillo. Please lock up your fuel tanks and your girlfriend. Bust BigMan is in need of some action.
He's has been anonymously submitting footage to us here at Metzger Unlimited. This self proclaimed "Content King" is not stopping there he's even submitting his footage to mainstream media sources in hopes of someday being as popular as the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus. Rumor has it that he runs with sasquatch. If you find him, Please use extreme caution when approaching him. Yet to be caught we will continue the search in hopes of one day finding him.

Here's some footage that he sent to us...What's scary about this shot is the fact that he was this close to us and we never even knew it. Man he is sneaky. Here Bust BigMan captured a shot of people from our ride. Vince Carbone airs it out for the unknown media maniac. Here Mr. Bigman was able to catch me shooting death drop at Shell Reef.
So me and my partner Brandon decide to head out of the office today to The Imperial Valley Cycle Center to deliver a package and to check the weather conditions for our upcoming ride trip in Ocotillo Wells. The rain has been coming down hard for days now and it wasn't letting up. But we decided to continue on the trek towards Ocotillo Wells. When we reached the S2 the cops and had the road closed due to snow. So we thought "Shoot well I guess we keep on going" So we went through to Julian where we later ran into deep snow that was equivalent to a mid-western ice storm. Needless to say we were shut down again and forced to go through to Ramona.
While we were in Ramona we decided to stop and the local KTM shop and check it out. Lucky enough we were able to make it through that route to the 8E which we later found to be closed as well. So without any options we made the best out of our day and had a blast. We stopped in to Motoworld of El cajon and said hello. "That's a pretty cool shop but it will be way cooler when they are carrying the Metzger Unlimited products".
So off from Motoworld we head to Hanger 94. hanger 94 is a super core dope shop that's located in LA Mesa, CA. We stopped in and talked to Milo. Milo and I go back and it was good to catch up with him. Now we are off again, we are headed to meet with "The Dead King" AKA Tyler King. TK is rad and we all go way back. We were excited to meet with him until the rain delayed his arrival. Scrambled on time we now decide to head back to Temecula to the Cycle Shack, where we delivered a package. This is a really core mom and pop apparel store. It was cool to see true family business. The enthusiasm from a whole family was really cool. We're looking forward to launching with them in their second location in Anza, CA.
From the Cycle shack we went to the Metzger Unlimited Headquarters. I dropped Brandon and went to a school musical that my daughter was in at school. It's crazy to watch my kids grow like they have. It's great to be dad and get to enjoy things like this. After here musical I met back up with the crew at Pole Position Raceway where we had a scheduled Endurance race. Five Teams competed including riders like Twitch, Scummy, Scotty Stevens, Julian D'Usseau, and Nick Wey. Also in attendence was the crew from M80, Brian Manley, and several other heads. The Metzger Unlimited/ Smithline team was composed of Myself, Nick Wey, Brandon Roberts, Wes Smith, & Ed Allumbaug. It was a great night of racing and at the end it was Metzger Unlimited/ Smithline Industries team coming out on top. To celebrate we headed over to TGIF's to grab some grub and chill just before heading home to get ready to go snow boarding. Man that was a fun day. Thanks for coming along on the ride you all! Ok so after the Lighting bolt show we hit the strip hard in Hollywood. By my side was Brandon and Ed. Needless to say after a plethora of Red Bull Vodka's we watched the sun come up on the drive back to the Inland Empire. Here's a few photos.
The Lightning Bolts Art Show, presented by Nike 6.0, has aligned with the Athlete Recovery Fund for a final exhibit Dec. 11th- Dec 14th at the historic Montalbán Theater in Hollywood. Original works from over 40 artists will be exhibited than auctioned off online to raise money for ARF to aid injured action sports athletes.The online auction will begin Weds. Lightning Bolts is a BMX-inspired exhibit created around the historic introduction of BMX as an Olympic sport. Nike 6.0 teamed up with BMX Hall of Famer, Bob Haro, recreating his iconic number plate as a blank canvas. A select group of contemporary artists, each sharing a cultural connection to BMX, were invited to partake. Unique works from artists such as Nick Philip, Andy Jenkins, Rich Hansen, and Michael Lau debuted in Beijing, China on May 13th and have since shown in Portland, OR, and Tokyo. The final exhibit will show at The Montalbán Theatre in Los Angeles, CA from Dec. 10th- Dec. 14th.
A slew of new artists including Taj Mihelich, Pete Demos, Chris Reed, and Andrew Pommier have contributed new works to the final curation of Lightning Bolts, sharing their story of BMX.
